When a reading or learning delay exists, it is wise to test for vision disorder to determine if it is contributing to the learning problem. In fact, studies show that about 80% of kids with reading and learning problems have a common vision disorder called Convergence Insufficiency (CI).
The good news is that with proper therapy,CI can be eliminated. We can then move on and treat the underlying learning problem with greater success.
Vision disorders are addressed with a series of eye exercises called Vision Therapy (VT). VT is a lot like physical therapy only it works with the muscles of the eyes.
