The Vanderbilt test for ADD/HD

Attention Deficit Disorder with Inattention and Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity are behavior disorders that can impact how well a child learns in school.

Differentiating between the types of Attention Deficit help us redirect the learning behavior with targeted therapy which may be different depending on the diagnosis.

The Vanderbilt Assessment is a standardized test identifying those people with Attention Deficit Disorder (Primarily Inattentive);  Attention Deficit Disorder (Primarily Hyperactivity) and ADD/HD (in combination).

This test also tests for behavior that at times borders on one or more of the following classifications:
a.   Oppositional-Defiant Disorder (This tests provides a Screening for this behavior)
b.   Conduct Disorder (A Screening is provided for this behavior also)
c.   Anxiety/Depression (Same here, this is a Screening for this behavior)

Differentiating between the types of Attention Deficit help us redirect the learning behavior with targeted therapy which may be different depending on the diagnosis.

Our Assessments identify the most common reading and learning disorders. The tests are taken in an online format and when completed, a final score is presented. This provides you with an understanding of how your child reads and learns, both their weaknesses and their strengths.

This test takes about 20-25 minutes to complete.

Instructions:

The Vanderbilt Test is taken by the parent or guardian; it is NOT taken by the child. It can also be given to the child’s teacher for him/her to fill out.  This gives a good idea of the child’s behavior both at home and also when at school. The added advantage to having the child’s teacher complete the test is that we now have a clear indication if behavior issues are affecting academic performance.

At the end of the test, click on CHECK SCORE to see the final score and recommendations on how to proceed.   *** if your score does not come up it most likely means that you have missed filling in a bubble. Check to make sure that every question has been answered.

Then, click the link “Proceed to next Assessment”.

Also, click:  “Solution: Online Therapy” to learn how to manage the symptoms of ADD/HD.

You can return to the Assessments at any time by using the side menu “Assessments” under the category of the test you’d like to revisit.

If you should get interrupted in the middle of the test and have to stop, no worries! When you return, you’ll need to begin this test at the beginning but you can return to the website as many times as you’d like for 90 days by using your LOG IN info.
